I just installed mac os x tiger CD version on my iBook g4 and its acting rather slow i dont know! when i installed it it as 10.4 then i updated it to 10.4.11 please shed some light!!

14' iBook G4
1.33 GHz OS X 10.4.11
768MB SDRAM
60GB HDD

This is an easy one

Tiger includes Spotlight search. For a while -(few hours at least) it will be busy cataloguing your wholes drives. Once its done you will find your machine speeds up back to normal.

Once done Spotlight only needs to keep itself updated, so you will hardly notice
