OS 10.3 - mac os 10.4 gives error while installation??

Hi i tried to install mac os 10.3 on my imac g3 with 1 gig ram and 20 gig hardrive but when i tried to boot the cd from "c" key it showed me an apple sign on grey color but after few seconds it shows me the following error and ask to restart the imac..
iam using mac os 9 and 16.92 gb free space on hadrrive left
"panic(cpu 0): unable to find driver for this platform: "powermac2,2.".

latest stackbacktrancr for cpu 0:
backtrace:
"many hexa numbers here"
kernel version
darwin kernel ver 7.0.0
then
some hexa number again

panic :we are hanging here

what is wrong...................

how much room have you got left on that 20 gig drive?

try running disk Utility and ONYX (free download) on it first
