It is a scheduled major upgrade/update of OSX, not a completely new system.

What system are you referring to? OSX can only run on Apples Hardware, so the question doesn't make any sense.

it really depends on your system, if you have an intel system though its very likely that leopard will work, but i will not promise anything because nobody knows for sure what the requirements are going to be for it since it hasn't come out yet.

Leopard isn't exactly a new operating system; it's an update to OS X... it keeps the same core functionality and adds some extra features/graphical updates.

It is like Vista is a update to Windows; keeping the same core features and mechanic of XP and just updating features/graphical elements.

It is indeed an update, it is 10.5 a step up from 10.4, if it was a NEW OS it would then be called OS 11 or XI or something.

Even though Microsoft says that it is a completlety new OS. It's kinda like XP, but with a Aqua , err Aero, theme. My, my, my I keep getting them mixed up, they look so...

Yeah, it was supposed to be a brand new OS, but turned out to be XP with a (very expensive) OS X theme, and more bugs/quirks/incompatabilites.

when leopard comes out am going to have to decide on what partition am gonna put it in

theres a 110 GB AND A 220GB, my question tho, is which one is more likely to use the most memory?

and also, is it true that YOU HAVE to defragment a Mac?(like once a month)

While some people on these forums do defragment their Macs, most do not believe it to be necessary at all. Mac OSX doesn't leave files placed randomly all over the disc like Windows does. As far as which partition to use for which, that really depends upon what you will use each OS for. Are you stuck with those partition sizes?

I never really used Mac, so even if Leopard comes with Tons of bugs like Vista did on its launch, it will be fixed by updates right? Can something stop updates?such as a liscence used many times or something like that?

also, am thinking of dual booting btw. ( to dual boot, i just need to install them on different partitions right? or do i have to install a certain program?) Also, to make Leopard boot without moving any keys like, moving the arrows on which OS am gonna use. How do i do that? do install Leopard on drive C instead of D?

Kinda off-topic, but why do people stay with like 10.4.5 and never upgrade? is there a reason for this?

It depends if you mean the 32 or 64 bit version, home basic, premium, super scrumptious, or low saturated fat version!

Sorry, my mistake - that's Vista! There is only one version of Leopard (or two if count the single user/ family pack)
