OS 10.4 - importing outlook express contacts.

ive been on my macbook for a few days, and im having the hardest time trying to import my address book from my windows outlook express into the mail client here on my macbook.
i saved the file on windows (outlook60.wab) but its grey scaled when i try and add it to macmail.
any idea's on what im doing wrong?
