My Mac MSN Messenger is really screwing up and won't load half the time. I actually have to go ou to the Hotmail website and call it up vs. loading it from my desktop. Everytime I shut down my computer and try to load it, it says, "a newer version of MSN Messenger is available, do you want to download"? This is EVERY time even after I download the newer version. I think I need to uninstall the program and reinstall.
How do you do this? I am a newbie Mac owner. Also, is there a newer version of MSN Messenger out there? What does everyone else use? THanks. marc |

![]() with regards to MSN saying new version and downloading, don't waste your time, it's corrupt, or at least is for me, I had to get it straight from the MS website. http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx#Messenger with regards to deleting apps, I use a program called appdelete |

OK...I finally deleted all the old MSN files that were all over the machine. Now I did get MSN MESSENGER FOR MAC 6.0.3 to load. I don't get the error message anymore about a newer version available.
But, here is my last problem: In the MSN Messenger Box it used to show me when I got a email from my Hotmail Acct or how many emails on my hotmail acct were unread. Now I don't see anything there. But, if I open up my MSN Messenger from scratch, a box will pop up and tell me, but thats it. Any help? Last edited by MarcInJapan; 10-12-2007 at 03:21 AM. |

Type the program name into the finder utility under file, and then when all results are shown, drag each one into the trash and empty it, when done there should be no files left in the finder window. You will have successfully removed evrything. Dragging the app/prog into trash and emptying will not remove all evidence of it.
