I currently own a mac mini with 1.25 ghz g4 processor and 512mb of ram. Do you believe this system will be able to run os X leopard. I recently read the system requirements for leopard on apple insider but I am afraid that the new os would slow down my mac mini too much.

It should work just fine, but if I were you I would add more RAM and bump it up to 1GB.

It will run. Maybe not as well as Tiger, but it will run. I booted my 1Ghz G4 iBook to 10.5 and it ran somewhat slow, but it was also running from my old iPod via FireWire so it was hard to judge just how slow it would be from the internal drive.
