How do I shut off the start-up chime? Can't seem to find anything in the prefs.

If you mute the system volume before you shut down the computer it will mute the chime. There are also a few apps out there that will do it. Check here.

Ridiculous- adjective: deserving or inviting derision or mockery; absurd. ex. It is ridiculous how many people think the word ridiculous is spelled with an 'e'.
