OS 10.4 - deleting toolbar prefrences?

how do you delete toolbar prefrences?
so i can make it so it says day month date year hour minutes am/'pm

go to system prefs > inernational > formats

then click customize.

under date and time you can choose short, medium, long, or full and customize to your heart's content. it took me a few tries to get it exactly how i wanted, but finally i was able to get it to look like this (which i really prefer over the illogical american mm/dd/yyyy):

I believe that it's the short format you want to customise. I came across that tip in an issue of Macworld last year. A quick search on their website didn't turn up the details however.
