Mac Specs: 17 inch 2 GHz C2D imac (5,1) with 3GB DDR2 RAM, X1600 (128MB memory) GPU - OSX 10.6.3

Well I just found out something about sleep mode. I dunno if it's been posted or not. But if for whatever reason you have to force quit the finder, don't use the pressing the power button method to put the computer to sleep untill the finder has fully reloaded. I did that onc by accident and pressed the button just after I force quit the finder and realised I coundn't wake my imac up. Nothing would work. So I just pulled the power plug.

I know it's not exactly the best solution but I learnt my lesson, not to do this again.

Doesn't holding the power button for 4 seconds put the machine off? Pulling a plug seems a bit too drastic and may cause some short circuit...

I didn't try that. That's a good idea. And I knowing pulling the plug is really not a good thing to do. If there's a next time I'll try it. But I hope there isn't though.
