I have a Powerbook G3, which I am trying to install OSX 10.4 on. There are two installation CD's, one with OS 9 and one with OSX. It is running OS 8.6 and cannot read either disk.

Is there any way I can get OSX running? (XPostFacto did not work)

Ok. I'm downloading OS 9 with all updates right now. I should be able to get XPostFacto and Tiger working from there on.

I'm considering updgrading my Lombard, but I don't know where to start. More RAM is obvious, and I've looked around and seen that it can take up to 386mb. I'm confused though, it should be able to take PC133 ram, but when i search for that type of ram on ebay, some specify that they are not Mac compatible.

Also, how do I go about updating the processor? Is it a difficult job?

And finally, the HDD is only 4gb, and I need help with what kind of hard drives are compatible with my G3.

Thanks in advance!
