I bought a MBP off craigslist the Intel Core Duo model not Core 2 Duo and I want to format it.

Here is the problem I have tried EVERYTHING the apple support tells you to do, booting up while holding C, ejecting disk and then restarting, etc... And whenever I do it always says I can't install this software on this computer, the installation disks Im using are from a MBP I bought back in March the Core 2 Duo $2,000 model. I've tried making 1 partition, 2 partitions, etc in the disk utility and I just don't know what to do from there.... I have already deleted everything on the computer I just need to Install OSX, am I going to have to be a genuine copy of Tiger?

The Install DVD's that come with a Mac are Model specific. I am sort of surprised that since they are Both MBP's it will not work, but it's probably due to the Core 2 CPU and the install DVD knows it's not the machine it was made for. Sorry to give you bad news but I am 99.9% sure that is your issue.

The only problem with getting a Boxed full install of Tiger is even at the Apple Store it's for Power PC Macs. You need to get a hold of Apple and tell them what happened and get a DVD for that machine.
