I installed a new hard drive and spotlight is trying to index the new drive and I want to cancel it till I get home from work. It is slowing down my MBP while working, so I would rather do it while I sleep.
But for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to cancel the current indexing....

looks like you may just be able to go to system prefs > spotlight, then the privacy tab and add the drives to the list not to search. Please participate in our Member of the Month polls. Every vote counts! And remember to use the user reputation system!
