Ok, im ttthhhiiisss close to getting a MacBook due to the great portability of it compared to other 13" screens.

But... Is it worth holding off until 10.5 is released? Being a Windows user right now (^^) I thought it would update automatically but after a quick search im not so sure.

Thanks all.

Its not your run of the mill update. Its actually a new OS. I would certainly put off till 10.5 comes. Though I've heard that if you purchase the machine 1 month before the OS is released, you get a free upgrade.

You don't get a free update one month before release, that is one of those rumors. Apple has been Apples' practice to give out a free update to people who purchase a new system about a week before the new release of an OS.

So, I'll be getting a MBP 2.2ghz and was going to buy it around the end of September anyway, but would prefer to get a better OS if one is available so close to the time that I purchase.

The only thing I am worried about is that if I, for some reason, fall on hard times between now and then and have to buy my MBP after Leopard has been released, will this then put the price of a MBP up?

I'll be using the computer mainly for music production - using Logic Pro, so would the Leopard -v- Tiger really be a significant issue? It'd also be a general computer though, for internet and calendar etc.

I'm a life-long PC user, btw, and a bit of a novice when it comes to computers as it is. That will hopefully change once I get the MBP
