Is it possible to lock your average folder, so one has to type in a password to access it?

Disk Utility > New image > specify the size of the image, and Encryption. Whenever you need it, just open it (it asks for password) and then its a normal folder (only restricted in size)

Just right click then click get info and at the bottom there are some options as to who can use it and what they can do with it.

I know i just brought this thread back from the dead but i tried doing this and i enter the right password and the password window closes and leaves the file locked. I am on a limited access account but for the most part my computer hass been left full acces.
