1. How do I ping a website to see if the problem is the website or sarari?

2. How do I delete temp files, cookies and clear the cache? (I have already looked in Safari preferences and Apple preferences)

If you chose to not be here, you may.

1. Open up Terminal (should be in your Applications folder), and type "ping website.com" without the " obviously..

2. I don't use Safari, but a quick glance, and I found.... History > Clear History. And Safari > Empty Cache. Safari also has Private Browsing which you may find useful. Look into that.

If you're not comfortable with Terminal, the Network Utility (Applications>Utilities) has all sorts of little tools (ping, port scan, whois etc.).
