I'd say that at least a gig of RAM will be needed for a smooth experience, similar to Tiger, especially with features like Time Machine and Preview.

These are not the final release requirements. Nobody knows if those will be the same as the beta.

Well I will be getting it for my macbook for sure. Do I need to buy the family thing to use it on a second mac (the powermac)? Or will the single copy work?

you need to purchase the family thing. the single copy will work on one computer... and if anyone else wants to explain why.. 'cause i'm also curious, (like if you have to go a total reformat.. would it work?)

There's no copy protection, license keys or "activation"; the family pack includes the same disc as the single user pack. The thing is, with the family pack, you get 4 extra licenses (so you're not using the software illegally on 1 or more of your machines) and it costs next to nothing extra.

My dad always buys the family pack if it's available, because the extra cost is negligible, but he has the option of installing it on any other machine he might procure.

Maybe when you bought your Mac a couple of years ago you need to start worry about it,
wondering why you should install 10.5 anyways then.

But I suppose all Macs could just go smooth with it,

Only the MacBooks have the minimum of 512 MB RAM

And as final touch,God created the Dutch!
