OS 10.4 - Printer Sharing

After 2 hours of trying to get this to work i have come here for support!

What im trying to do is connect to a printer on a windows machine, which doesn't sound too hard! The main error i get is nt_status_access_denied while trying to connect to the printer via a wireless connection. If i connect the printer to the Macbook via the USB cable it will work fine no problem at all. The printer is connected to a pc via USB which has sharing enabled and works fine via a windows laptop that is also wireless.

Printer make:
Canon MP160

There is some kind of authentication going on which is blocking the mac. It doesn't sound like a wireless/usb issue at all.
