I have finally figured out how to add a new admin account to my iBook G4 and was able to get all the new updates, etc.
Now, I think I already know what the answer to this Q is going to be, but as a Mac newbie(of sorts) I ask nonetheless: When I dragged the Terminal icon from the desktop to the Trash and subsequently emptied the Trash, did I delete the Terminal utility, also? Keep in mind that I am a Linux person and a (very seldom) M$ user. When I delete an icon from KDE or the win desktop, it justs sends the shortcut, link etc, to the Trash and not the entire app. Has my Terminal gone poof? Is this what has happened? lynch |

The terminal app is in the Utilities folder.

Alternatively, there's an open source Terminal app called iTerm here: http://iterm.sourceforge.net/. It has the same functionality, and is a bit more powerful in certain areas. |
