I have finally figured out how to add a new admin account to my iBook G4 and was able to get all the new updates, etc.
Now, I think I already know what the answer to this Q is going to be, but as a Mac newbie(of sorts) I ask nonetheless:
When I dragged the Terminal icon from the desktop to the Trash and subsequently emptied the Trash, did I delete the Terminal utility, also?
Keep in mind that I am a Linux person and a (very seldom) M$ user.
When I delete an icon from KDE or the win desktop, it justs sends the shortcut, link etc, to the Trash and not the entire app.
Has my Terminal gone poof?
Is this what has happened?

It's likely whatever on the desktop was just a shortcut, akin to the dock.

If you load up a new Finder window, click on Applications and then go into Utilities, Terminal should be there towards the bottom.

Thanks for replying.
Looking for Terminal in a new Finder>Applications window was the first thing I tried, but, no luck there.

The terminal app is in the Utilities folder.

You may be able to get it individually off the Tiger install CD/DVD, but I'm not entirely sure how.

Alternatively, there's an open source Terminal app called iTerm here: http://iterm.sourceforge.net/. It has the same functionality, and is a bit more powerful in certain areas.

Thanks. I neglected to say that I did look in the Utilities folder. I have heard of a utility called Pacifist that will extract individual packages. But I dont have the disks.
I may try iterm.
