I'm kind of freaking out. I traded my Core Duo for a Core 2 Duo just a couple months ago, and within weeks of getting it, I got my first kernel panic. I hadn't gotten any on my older Macbook, so I was a bit perturbed. I brushed it off...until I got a second a week later. Now, it's 2 months later, I just got probably my 10th kernel panic since I got the thing, the 2nd in 2 weeks!!!
I should also mention that I have serious issues with the thing restarting itself randomly when I close the lid. All of my power settings are correct, so I know it's not that...and it doesn't happen everytime. It's totally unpredictable. The panics happen when I'm doing the most harmless things - usually Mac programs: Safari, iTunes, iChat...sometimes Firefox. All memory, etc is factory installed. Besides any feedback about what I should do, I'd like to know if anyone thinks my data is in danger? I'm totally panicking myself at this point ![]() I need to make it to a Genius Bar, I know. |

Back up your data and return it.
And what software do you have on it? There might be something dodgy causing panics. Beadia I judge you when you use poor grammar.

Did you install the 10.4.10 update? I was over on apple.com reading the forums over there, and LOTS of people have had issues with kernal panics and airport connectivity since upgrading to 10.4.10.
I just got my new MacBook delivered today and was reading the apple forums to check before I did the update. My MacBook has 10.4.8 on it. I have an iBook G4 that came with 10.4.9 installed, and I've never had any problems with it. Some of the other more experienced people may know more about it. I'm going to wait on the update.
