default folder

My mac has suddenly started going to 'my documents' every time I wish to save as, export or import. Previously it would go to the last folder I saved, exported or imported from. Im working from a server and this problem is proving very tedious as I am having to start from my documents each time.

Does anyone have a solution?

this is in the wrong section. it should be in OS X section

I was wondering if anyone else has solved this issue. I am having the same problem and its very frustrating.
