Hard Refresh???

I searched around and just couldn't find anything on this subject.

Somebody told me to do a "hard refresh" but I think he was a PC user as he said to use Ctl + F5. That doesn't seem to do anything. I am trying to make sure a certain thing isn't cached in my Safari browser.

Any ideas?

you can empty safari cache, or thats not what you want to do?

just click Safari in menu for that.

No I'm not talking about just clearing the cache. I wish it were that simple.

I'm looking for a way to force empty the cache. Something seems stuck and I just can't get out of a certain place -- in order words it won't let me log out.

So, somebody suggested doing a "hard refresh" whatever that is. Sounds to me like something is cached and isn't clearing properly for some reason.

You can "reset" Safari. It's in the same Menu (FILE IIRC) as the Clear Cache option is. This will remove everything including History, cache and save passwords, and AutoFill info.

Thank you I'll give that a try!

To reload a page and bypass the cache:
either:
  • Hold down the Command and Shift keys, and press R.
  • Hold down the Shift key and click the Reload toolbar button.

Thank you. I tried that too. I'm not really sure what helped the situation but now things seem to be working correctly. Somewhere along the line I must have got the cache really clear itself.

Thanks for all the help.
