iMac G3 - OS X without OS 9?

Right, I have a serious shopping problem. I just brought a G3 350Mhz Slot Loading iMac.
It was £29 including postage, so not bad.
Anywho, it comes with a blank hard drive, I have Mac OS 10.4 on CDs (5), but am almost certain that this particular mac won't run OS X without a firmware upgrade.
iMac (Slot Loading) iMac Firmware Update 4.1.9 75130
Thats what it says on the apple website.
Thing is, the firmware upgrade runs from inside OS 9. I have no OS 9 discs. Any way I can get around this? (Or anyone wanna PM me a link for a good download site )
Just in case you need it, it has 256MB Ram and a 12GB Hard Drive.

No, I tried it. You need OS9. I picked up an original set for $3 on eBay for G3 iMacs. They shouldn't be too hard to find.
