Ok, when I buy my imac will it will have OS X tiger installed, will it be the latest version, or should I update?
if so, is this a good update for me?

Just run the built in updater (if it doesn't do it itself) and download what it tells you to.

It should have 10.4.8 or 10.4.9 on it. If it's .8, you can update to .9 no problem with the updater.

If it's a brand new iMac, then it most likely will have 10.4.9 already installed. We bought my sister's Macbook last week and it came ready with 10.4.9
