Hey Guys,

I am fairly new to mac so i was not sure if this is even possible but here goes.

Is it possible to continue an internet download whilst my mac is in sleep mode?

Or does the sleep mode terminate internet connections?

Basically I have huge files that I am downloading but I my mac is in my bed room and I would like to be able to sleep myself no pun intended

Thanks in advance

No, you can not continue downloading while your mac is asleep. However, you can just turn the brightness of your display down by hitting F1.

It should be safe to leave your mac on until the download is finished anyways.

What I do is I go to system preferences then energy saver and then I set the display to sleep when the computer has been inactive for 1 minute. Thus I still download whatever it is and my room is dark

Here is an option.. download sleepless or insomniax via www.macupdate and that way you can close your lid and it won't sleep.. If you go this route read the WARNINGS that come along with the programs.
