My calculator wouldn't open - it bounced, then nothing.
Then my browser crashed and wouldn't open. Then safari and adobe bounce and won't open. I restarted and now my computer won't turn on past the screen with the little circle that goes around and around.

Your HD might be bad. I opened up my macbook from sleep and nothing would open up or anything (the mouse would still move though). I took the battery out and tried restarting it but I got a flashing folder icon with a ? in the center. I had to get my HD replaced.
