OS 10.4 - Strange DNS issue

Hello, i'm a newbie dealing with macs and i'm having quit a strange problem with DNS

DNS is not working on the graphic environment but on the shell it works fine, has anyone got a hint?

Can you describe the problem more?

browsing the intra or intranet does not work nor printer to a named printer, although if I enter the IP address of the web server or printer it works just fine. I know it sounds like DNS is not working at all in the network or that this one mac has the wrong DNS server entries BUT this is not the case. If I open a terminal and do an nslookup to google or any other web site I get the IP addresses just fine, it works also with intranet addresses.

Nope, nothing there, just normal configuration info, this looks more like a strange bug or something blocking DNS at the graphic level.
