Macbook - Function Keys (F1-F12)

Hey everyone,

I know that if you hold down the function (fn) key, you can use the F1-F12 keys, instead of changing the brightness, or volume. I was just wondering if there is a way that i could lock the function keys so that they will only work as F1-F12 keys, and not volume and brightness.

Is this a trick question??
My keyboard has key mrked fn....now if I was a betting man I would say that means "function"
That is on a MBP and is the bottom left most key on the keyboard.

System Preferences -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Keyboard -> "Use the F1-F12 keys to control software features"

maddog, he means a way to lock the key so he doesnt have to hold it down....

Is it possible to make this setting application specific so that the function keys automatically change between f1-12 and volume etc depending on which application I am using?
