Can you update 9.1 directly to 10? Can you update 9.1 directly to 10.2??

I don't know anything about installing operating systems, so any help will be apreciated.

when i upgraded to 10 i did a complete restore (erased my HD then installed 9.2 then 10.0). you might be able to go from 9.1 to 10.2, but you might want to check first.

I also cleaned my disk (wiped it clean), and re-installed 9.2 and then
installed OS X.
