OS 10.3 - Software Update freezing

I'm trying to download iTunes 7.1.1 and a Security Update..after it downloads iTunes, any information regarding the downloads progress disappears and will not load anymore. Anyone know how to solve this?

There is a pref file for Software Update. Maybe drag it to the trash and restart see where that takes you. Path is:

Macintosh HD -> Users -> Your User Account -> Library -> Preferences -> com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist

And since you're in PAnther, run Apple's Disk Utility and repair disk permissions.

Let us now how it goes.
