In System Preferences/Sharing it says that my Computer Name is "Martin's Mac mini" as I transferred my settings, etc when I got my iMac.

Can I change this name without encountering problems? There's an Edit button, but I once renamed the Home folder on my mini with disastrous consequences...

Yep there are no problems renaming the computer. I too renamed the home folder when I first switched
