Unable to activate appletalk in classic!

Recently upgraded to 10.3.3 after uprade was complete
I was no longer able to activate appletalk in classic.
I use stylus Rip for a epson1280 photo printer and
I need to be able to print with postscript, but I can't
access this feature unless appletalk is active.
please help me.
