    minimize all windows
    Hi,

I looked at the sticky and command + m and command + option + m are not working. If i hit f11 then all the windows move out of the way but how do i minimize them all?

    Thanks

    Specs:
iMac 27" 3.4 GHz, 256 GB SSD, 2 TB HDD, 8 GB RAM
    Here's how!

1/ Click anywhere on an open bit of the desktop.

2/ Press OPT+CMD+H (hold down all three keys at the same time).

This is the "Hide All" command, sort of the equivalent of "Show Desktop" in Windows.

Well "moving out of the way" and minimizing is the same thing, isn't it? Hiding the windows just hides them into nowhere-ness. I use exposé an awful lot too, but I get cluttered up sometimes. Can't wait for Spaces.

sort of. expose is an on/off switch.
minimize all move items to the dock. then you can pick a window to reappear all on it's own if you'd like.

or at least that's how i'm reading it, i should say.

Expose moves them all out of the way, but only temporarily. As soon as you select something, they all come back. Hide All moves hides them all to the Dock and they stay there until explicitly called back by a mouse click on the Dock icon. If you have lots of open windows, this can be a quick way to send them all away and focus on something else.

Of course I agree with you yogi - Spaces is another entirely different solution to a similar problem. I used YouControl Desktops right now for this very purpose - multi desktop capability. When I want a clean desktop, I can either Hide All or simply move to an unused desktop. In practise, I use 4 desktops, and keep the fourth one free for just this sort of thing.

I noticed it doesn't minimize or hide Finder windows. Is anyone aware of any additional commands?
