OS 10.4 - Previous System - Keep?

Mac Specs: 2 GHz Black Intel Core Duo Macbook, 2 GB Ram, 100 GB HD, 60 GB black iPod Video, 8 GB iPhone

Fromasta Flex is offline
I noticed I have a "previous systems" folder in my hard drive, and it's taking up a considerable amount of space. Can I delete this folder and free up all that space? Is there any reason to keep it? Thanks.
