Okay so I feel like I must be the first person to have this ever happen. I need help asap and am stressing, especially since I have to board a plane across the country tomorrow at 8am.

I'm giving my sister my ibook g4. I made a new account for her and THOUGHT I made it an admin account, but it turns out I didn't. Yet somehow (this is the part that makes no sense), on her account, I deleted my admin account. So as it's standing, there is one account on the computer and that is a Standard account. So I (as of tomorrow, she) can't make any changes to the computer at all because it asks for the Admin user/password combo and there isn't an administrator account.
The bonus is that my start up disks are in New York (there's no way to use the startup disks from a macbook on an ibook, right?)

IS THERE ANY WAY TO FIX THIS?! please.

No you need the iBook's original disks to do that. If she doesn't have the original disks, she needs to buy a full install of Mac OS X Tiger (10.4) as an emergency disk so she can reinstall everything.

This is EXACTLY my problem as well! I feel like a *******! Can I infer from this that I need to re-install OS 10.4 for the startup CD? THANK YOU!!

Maybe try this.

When I upgraded to Leopard, I lost my Admin account and couldn't make any changes. I went and did this simple Single-User ... thing ... and now I'm all good. Got my admin back and am having no issues.
