OS 10.4 - Making an App the default program for opening files

Say i want to open all .doc files with Neo Office without having to option-click it, how would i do that?

eric is offline
click on any .doc file and do a get info.
then under "open with" select the app you prefer.
make sure to click "change all".

that should do it.
