OS 10.4 - FW drive and moving files

i cant move any files from the FW drive as the OSX is saying

The Items cannot be moved because folder cannot be modified

The drive is most likely formatted to NTFS. Macs can't write to this format.

Open Disk Utility, select the drive, click "Erase", choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled), then click "Erase".

i normally use it with my macbookpro but have hooked it up with the G5 could this cause it as am sure its not NTFS as i have been using it with osx

Ah, then it's a totally different set of problems.

Right click the drive and "Get Info".

Check the Ownership of the drive and make sure it's set to your username.
