hey I just joined, but I have many years experience with macs.
If your Mac is having trouble starting up turn off your computer. Turn it on again but hold down Apple+S until while pressing the button and until a screen shows up. Once it finishes coding type in "exit" and press enter. Your computer should bring you to the login page.If you want ot run a hard drive check type in "fsck -fy". Many of you may know this, but what you may not know is that you could permanently ruin your computer. Anything else you may type in including things that the internet says could permanently erase your hard drive, kill your hard drive, or numerous other things. So what am I saying? Unless you are running simple things that an Apple expert that you know or someone you talked to un person do not type in any of those vulgar words because you are annoyed with your computer. Just, as calmly as possible, shut down your computer and get tech support. --ET Last edited by ET5057; 12-05-2006 at 08:48 PM. Reason: not a complete thought |
