When I insert a blank cd, I get a message saying something to the effect that a disc with an unknown volume content has been inserted. The blank cd then won't show on my desktop. I can however leave the cd in the drive, open toast, and burn a cd. Also, I am able to switch to another user account, insert the blank cd, and the computer reads it just fine. Although nothing is "broken", it's really annoying. Any help with this would be great...

if it helps, the computer is a new 12" powerbook, and I've tried several different sorts of media, ranging from expensive to cheap, all with the same results.

Are you getting a pop-up window that asks you what you want to do? If so, tell it to open FINDER and it should show up.

no, it isn't a finder window, more of a warning message about the cd not being right.

Thanks Jerry, I got it figured out. I opened up system preferences-CD/DVD and clicked ignore, closed SP, opened again, and clicked, "ask me what to do". It works now. Thanks for the response though...
