Hey everybody!

I have looked everywhere, and I can't seem to figure out how to do this.

I have my Macbook paired with several Bluetooth devices, and most people forget to re-name their phones, so my pared devices list is full of things like:

SAMSUNG SGH-T519
SAMSUNG SGH-T509

I find this very confusing, and I was wondering how I could change the names of these to something easier. When I look in preferences, I can't seem to find anywhere that I am able to change the names.

Thank you!

I know you've looked in Preferences, but humour me.

If you go to System Preferences > Bluetooth > Devices and look in the left pane where you can see your Samsung phone, is it possible to highlight it and rename it using the Configure button on the right?

This is how I would think you would rename it, but it dosen't work. When I go to my bluetooth prefrences, select the device, in this example my Samsung phone, and press configure a windows pops up that first says getting additional information, at which point it bonds with my phone. After it has done this, it tells me to select the services that I want to use with this phone. After this, it tells me congradulations your new drice has been set up, no mention of my desired name.

I don't understand why Apple would not have included this feature, and in any case they need to make it easier to find this setting.
QUOTE Thanks
