OS 10.4 - extending 'show details' on desktop

I have the details of each icon on my desktop, but as you can see on the screenshot below, the details of my iMac gets cut short by a few dots instead of the full amount free. Is there a way to extend this out?

You would have to make your icons larger. Click the desktop, Open View > Show View Options and then from there make your icons larger until you can see the full info.

They're as large as I can make them mate - it makes no difference

Hmm... Then the only thing I can think of more is to try making the text size smaller (from the same window).

Changed the text size to 14 instead of 12 and it displays it all!
