Turn off recent folders?

How can I turn off recent viewed folders in the "Go menu". In system pref.s? Can't find.

open system prefs. and go to appearence and you can turn it off from there.

There is no "appearence" in 10.2.8 system prefs. Thought it would be that easy.

That does not turn off "Favorites" or "Recect Folders" from the GO menu in the finder.

I appreciate the reply.. it's obviously not that simple but, I don't see why it can't be done.
