My brother picked up a used 512mb iPod Shuffle off ebay. He has a MacBook Pro and wanted to use it on the OS X partition. He stuck it in one port, nothing. He stuck it in the other port and got a kernel panic. Now OS X won't boot. Luckily he has Windows on the other side - and it's working - but it just won't boot into OS X, says something about a debugger and a missing driver platform yada yada yada. Any ideas? It's like a virus-infected Shuffle is taking over his computer lol.

A quick rundown of the boot message, just typing as he reads it to me over the phone:

Panic (CPU 0x00blahblah) Unable to find driver for this platform (ACPI)

Debugger called panic)

Backtrace format - frame: return address (4 potential ARGS on stack)

<7 lines of letters and numbers here>

Backtrace terminated - invalid frame pointer 0x0

Kernel version: Darwin...

It asks him to restart the computer...same thing happens. Windows partition is working fine, fortunately. Any ideas?
