Now it has linux on it already but was told I did not have to format before tiger install ?

Also how does one eject the disc ??

Well if it has linux on a single partition, you most likely will need to reformat.

Select 'tools' from the menu bar and then 'disk utility' to reformat the disk to HFS+ and then it should work.

To eject the disc, restart and hold down the mouse button until it spits the dvd out.

I do not have that option or any other option to for disk management ?

I have system tools but it only has a file browser and software update options ..

Will take some screen shots with my camera and post them.

I was also just told that the linux cannot be removed ??

Are you sure?

Check all the menu points...

The menu bar appears a few screens into the installation process, if this is a regular tiger DVD it should pop up... :/

As an alternative you can try booting off the original discs that came with the powerbook if you have them and boot disk utility off of that.
