Transfering data from PC (2000 prof,) to Mac (OSx)

Hello,
Just recently purchased my new PowerBook G4 with Panther and need to transfer large amounts of data (mainly media) from my PC desktop to my G4 PowerBook. I am talking about roughly 40-50 gb's of data and at least 5,000 files. I am trying to figure out the best method of transfer.

Any suggestions?
Please advise.

Thank you!

Jason
