when i insert a cd...

when i put in a cd, the icon on the desktop for it shows up as an appleworks doocument. it doesn't effect the cds at all, but i was wondering how i can get it back to a normal icon

Have you "repaired permissions" since the problem?
Anytime something strange happens or I install updates/software or before I perform a a backup, I repair permissions. Seems to keep things running smoother.

Try restarting the Finder by opening Terminal and typing in:

killall "Finder"

got it to work... opened get info on the cd and deleted the picture. it went back to normal
