OS 10.4 - Disk Utility volume needs repair

I hope this is posted at the right place

I ran disk utility and received the following message. How do i repair it?

Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit


1 HFS volume checked
Volume needs repair

Please help

Mac Specs: i dont have no mac's

did you click verify disk and then get that message???
if so click the button under(or above) it and select repair disk.

if you dont get that button or it is greyed out insert your install disk, boot up holding 'C' and then from the drop down menu go to disk utility and then repair your disk. while you are there you should repair your permissions

Thanks
Holding down C tells your computer to boot from the cd in the optical drive as opposed to any hard drives with operating systems.
