MACyMouse has a spectacular aura about
Mac Specs: MBP 15" 2006 | 2011 21.5in iMac-1tb-i5-12gig | iPhone 3gs

Was working in iMovie.... and went to save a simple Quicktime clip of 26 megs.... I have a 120 gig HD... but got an error saying not enough disk space available....

Noticed that I went from having 87 gig of space to practically nothing.... anyone know what's happening??

I saw in another thread about the program called Disk Inventory but that program isn't showing anything that's eating up all this space... largest file is 9 gig which is my system Library... next highest is 6 gig, then 2 gig... but not all these would add up to 80 gig of space....
This is a brand new MacBook pro.... 5 days old.....

Help? Anyone??? Thanks

are you sure you're saving it to your hard drive? is your saving preference somewhere else?

It almost sounds like iMovie was eating up a lot of HDD space for VM or Swap Files. Did you get the space back when you closed iMovie? If not, try restarting.

I'm in the middle of an i Movie project.. the size is only 800 megs right now.... I'm only into 2 minutes worth of a 4 minute video.....
I've restarted, I've closed down but nothings changed... I'm now showing 24 gig tho but still that's ALOT from just a half hours time... to suddenly drop like that....

did you edit the clip and remove a lot of it? because that doesn't get deleted when you delete it in imovie, you have to empty the trash.
