Back in the old days, when I was a winders user, I never was into installing the bloated software that came with scanners/printers.
I would simply install the driver, and all my apps would work well with my printer. There was no need to have retarded software monitors constantly running taking up memory and cpu. Photoshop was able to 'Import via scanner' and all other apps were capable of printing to it. The day was good and I had all available resources, yay. Jump to current day; I own a Mac. I have a new HP scanner/printer and before I insert the Mac install disk, is there some easy way to ensure that I don't get all the 'startup' crap and simply the driver? Is there some way of 'adding a new printer', and having the os look for nothing more than the driver itself? |
