This may sound stupid but is there a way to set up a password entry when you launch Apple Mail this is to stop other people trying to accessing it when I'm away from my mac.

open your mail go to prefernces, then accounts, delete your password from down by the incomming mail settings. save changes, quit mail and restart it. make sure the remember password button is not checked.
