What does Mail (4.6) Search for? I've entered email addresses, words in Subject, words I believe to be in the body, yet it rarely finds _anything_. What use is it ?

I'm running OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 and Mac Mail is 7.3 and has no problems searching for all sorts of things and also has a drop-down allowing me to select what I want to search for..

Mail 4.6 sounds like you are using OS X Snow Leopard, but can't imagine the search was so bad back then or that it's gotten so much better now..

Yes, I am using Snow Leopard (I have several legacy apps which I fear won't work in later OS's) and Mail really is that bad! Unless anyone knows different, or any way I can tweak it -- ?
